Netflix has added the beloved Pokémon Indigo League anime to its lineup. Pokémon fans across the globe will be excited to know that. However, there’s a problem. If you don’t live in certain countries, you won’t have access to the Pokémon Indigo League in your Netflix library.

The reason is that specific titles are geo-locked, and Netflix doesn’t have rights to Pokémon Indigo League in select countries (for the time being). However, you have nothing to fear because there is a way to fool Netflix’s system and grant yourself access to Pokémon Indigo League and other popular anime via a VPN.

What Countries Have Pokémon Indigo League on Netflix?

Luckily, you only need to know 1 country for this method to work and we can confirm both The United States and The United Kingdom have this anime in their Netflix libraries.

Sadly, if you’re not living in those countries, you might not be able to watch this series. Fear not! Below, we’ll describe how to stream Pokémon Indigo League on Netflix, regardless of your current location.

Please note: We’ve confirmed that the countries mentioned have the Pokémon Indigo League in their Netflix libraries. Yet, it’s likely that these libraries can change at any time.

Fun fact: You can also watch Ghibli anime films via Netflix’s UK library and you can watch Demon Slayer via Netflix’s Canada library.

How to Watch the Pokémon Indigo League Anime on Netflix from Anywhere:

  1. Download a VPN
  2. Navigate to Netflix’s app settings
  3. Clear your Netflix cache
  4. Choose any of the above regions in the VPN
  5. Log in to Netflix and search for your desired anime

Step 1. Download a VPN

This is the easiest part. You only need to download a VPN. We have confirmed that NordVPN works for this method, and you can either subscribe or sign up for a free trial.

A VPN is necessary because Netflix follows your location and IP address. A VPN (a virtual private network) is software that hides your IP address and shields you from possible cyberattacks. It also prevents companies from tracking your internet activity without your approval.

However, VPNs can also fake your IP address to make it appear as though you are in a different country. In doing so, we can trick the Netflix app into thinking we are in a different country and give us access to that country’s library.

Step 2. Clear Your Netflix Cache (and possibly storage too)

It’s not always necessary to clear your cache, but in some cases, Netflix will access your past location data if you don’t. This further infers that you won’t be able to use this method. Additionally, it’s a good idea to clear your cache before connecting to the VPN in your desired country so that you can watch the Pokemon Indigo League anime without interruption.

To do so on mobile:

  • Go to App settings
  • Click on Netflix
  • Select the setting that says cache, storage & cache, or something similar
  • Click “clear cache” NOT “clear storage.” As soon as you clear your storage, all your downloads will disappear, and you have to log in again

NOTE: if you try clearing your cache and it still doesn’t operate correctly, clear your storage too. Yes, this will require you to sign in again, but I’ve found no issues getting this to function after doing so.

To do so on PC:

You shouldn’t have to do this on PC. The easier option is to open an incognito window after turning on the VPN. Your previous site’s browsing data will not be accessible if you run Netflix in an incognito window.

In case you do have to clear your internet data on PC for whatever reason, here’s how:

  • Visit the settings of the browser you’re using
  • Go to the Privacy and Security section
  • Find an option to clear browsing data or internet data
  • Clear both “Cookies and Site Data” as well as “Cached Files and Images”

Step 3. Choose any of the above regions in the VPN

This one is pretty self-explanatory. To watch Pokémon Indigo League on Netflix, we must choose the country where the anime is available on the Netflix library.

Below is a screenshot of how to do this on PC via the NordVPN desktop app.

Step 4. Log in to Netflix and search for your preferred anime

We’ve arrived at the final step! Time to see if our method worked.

Try it out by typing in Pokémon Indigo League in the search bar.
