The series features Ryota, a salaryman who suddenly finds himself in a fantasy world.
Like a lot of isekai worlds, this one operates on RPG video game rules. There are dungeon levels filled with monsters, and fighters battle them. Everyone has skill levels.
But in this version, everything revolves around monster drops, and not everyone can get the same drops.
In fact, Ryota has ridiculously high drop statistics. He can even get drops which are too high level for others to see.
So far, the majority of the series has focused on the clever ways that our hero can use his ability to “cheat the system,” and get the best drops.
The series also has some romantic comedy harem elements — for example, Ryota’s hammer-carrying partner, Emily; or the carrot-obsessed bunny girl, Eve. But the series hasn’t featured as much romantic comedy hijinks as you might expect.
The anime is based on a web novel series (2017-2020), which was adapted into a Kodansha light novel series. Season 1 of the anime ran from July to September 2023.
