If you’re looking for a dark fantasy parody anime series, you might want to watch The Legendary Hero is Dead! online.

The series takes an extremely silly approach to what might otherwise be a very dark premise. As the title implies, the real hero does indeed die in the first episode. What follows is not a typical fantasy adventure tale, but a weird comedy with a relatively high level of fanservice.

We can help you find where to watch this series. Luckily, you have several options.

The Legendary Hero is Dead! Basics

The Legendary Hero is Dead! at Crunchyroll, Subaruichi, Shogakukan / The Legendary Hero is Dead! Production Committee

This oddball anime series features Touka, an ordinary villager who is accidentally responsible for killing legendary hero Sion. A necromancer puts Touka into Sion’s animated dead body. Touka must somehow take over Sion’s quest.

For an allegedly shonen series, the show does contain some lewd humor. A running gag is that Touka is obsessed with thighs.

What About Netflix?

Netflix 404 page

I checked various Netflix regions for the series, and couldn’t find it.  However, Netflix often adopts a “binge watch” strategy, where it waits for a season to be finished before putting up episodes.

In addition, Crunchyroll has the license in many countries, while Muse Asia has the license in parts of South and Southeast Asia. This would seem to leave little room for Netflix.

According to the official The Legendary Hero is Dead! website in Japan, a Blu-ray Box will be available in August 2023.

I hope this helps you find The Legendary Hero is Dead!
