About Katsuyuki

Katsuyuki Konishi (小西 克幸) is a Japanese voice actor born in Wakayama, Japan, currently affiliated with Ken Production. He made his voice acting debut in 1997 with the role of VolFogg/Big VolFogg in The King of Braves GaoGaiGar, and has since built one of the most respected careers in the industry over nearly three decades of work across anime, video games, and stage productions.

Konishi is widely recognized for his ability to voice bold, larger-than-life characters with a distinctive richness and intensity. His portrayal of Kamina in Gurren Lagann remains one of the most celebrated vocal performances in modern anime, and his work as Laxus Dreyar across the full run of Fairy Tail — spanning 328 episodes — demonstrates the same magnetic energy applied to a character with far more internal conflict. His deep, commanding tone is a natural fit for Laxus’s pride and eventual sincerity.

Beyond Fairy Tail, Konishi has continued to expand his profile with high-profile roles in major franchises. He received the Best Supporting Actor Award at the 9th Annual Seiyu Awards on March 6, 2015, a recognition of the consistent quality he brings to his performances. He was also a special guest at Anime Expo 2010 in Los Angeles, where he met international fans and spoke about his approach to character work.

About Patrick

David Patrick Seitz is an American voice actor, ADR director, and script writer born in Riverside, California. He entered the voice-over industry in 2000 with the Amazing Nurse Nanako OVA and has since voiced characters across well over 100 anime and video game projects, establishing himself as one of the most prolific and recognizable English dub actors working in the industry today.

Seitz is particularly associated with imposing, villainous, or otherwise powerful characters — a quality that made him a strong fit for Laxus Dreyar. His deep, resonant delivery brings the same authoritative edge to Laxus that Konishi provides in Japanese, and his ability to convey both menace and eventual depth has been central to how English-speaking audiences have received the character. He voiced Laxus in the original Fairy Tail series beginning in 2011 and returned to the role for Fairy Tail the Movie: Phoenix Priestess and Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest.

Outside of Fairy Tail, Seitz is perhaps best known for voicing Dio Brando in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure and Scorpion in the Mortal Kombat franchise. He also works regularly as an ADR director and script adapter, giving him an unusually comprehensive understanding of the dubbing process that informs his performances as a cast member.
