If you’re a fan of “girls with guns” anime series, you should watch Lycoris Recoil online.
The series features a combination of secret agent missions, and slice-of-life café humor.
We can help you find where to stream this series. This article will also demonstrate how to use a VPN to watch this series.
Lycoris Recoil Basics
Lycoris Recoil features a pair of sharpshooting, secret agent girls. Naturally, these two are opposites. Chisato is a cheerful, optimistic, and fun-loving girl. Takina is the serious one.
When Takina gets demoted, they end up working together at their secret organization’s Café LycoReco. The café serves as a base for various unusual tasks, and other more serious missions.
With its heavy emphasis on action, Lycoris Recoil could be compared to such series as Gunsmith Cats or Gunslinger Girl. However, with its café setting, it also feels a bit like Is The Order A Rabbit? (if every character had Rize’s weapon skills).
Lycoris Recoil Release Dates
While a lot of anime start out as manga, Lycoris Recoil was an anime-first series. The anime was created by Asaura and Spider Lily, and directed by Shingo Adachi at A-1 Pictures.
Lycoris Recoil ran from July to September 2022. A seinen manga version of the series started in Media Factory’s Monthly Comic Flapper in September 2022.
Asaura also wrote a light novel, titled Lycoris Recoil: Ordinary Days, in September 2022.

Netflix doesn’t have Lycoris Recoil in the United States. However, you can watch it in a couple of other countries.
The Japanese version comes with no subtitles or dubbing. But Netflix subscribers in Singapore can get subtitles in English and several Asian languages.
We didn’t attempt to find Lycoris Recoil in every possible Netflix location. If Lycoris Recoil isn’t available on Netflix in your area, you will need a good VPN, such as NordVPN, if you want to watch. Here’s how:
How to Watch Lycoris Recoil Anywhere in the World
This method works on both desktop PCs and mobile phones or tablets.
- Purchase (or start a free trial) of a VPN. I can confirm that NordVPN works for this purpose.
- In the settings, choose Singapore as your location.
- Fire up the VPN and wait for it to do its magic
- Once you’re connected, navigate to Netflix (browser or app)
- Search “Lycoris Recoil” in the Netflix search bar and you should see the anime pop up.
Enjoy! Please note that if your Netflix library doesn’t update to reflect the country you selected in your VPN, you may have to clear the Netflix cache first and try again.
To do this on mobile, go to settings -> apps -> Netflix -> clear cache. To do this on PC, you have to clear the cache in your web browser.
I’ve had no trouble using this method and I still use NordVPN to watch anime from various Netflix country libraries daily.
