Satoru Noda began the Golden Kamuy manga in 2014. Between 2014 and 2022, Weekly Young Jump published 314 chapters of the manga.
The anime started in 2018. As of November 2022, there have been 42 episodes, plus several OVAs.

Where to Watch Golden Kamuy Online
1. Crunchyroll
As of November 2022, Crunchyroll had all 42 episodes of Golden Kamuy. The anime streaming service doesn’t divide the episodes up into seasons.
But every season is available — all 36 episodes of seasons 1-3, plus six episodes of season 4. Since Crunchyroll simulcasts episodes, it will likely be more by the time you read this.
It has subtitled episodes in multiple languages, plus a couple of dubbed versions. The English dub arrives the same day as new subtitled episodes, while the German dub lags behind.

2. Netflix
If you understand Japanese, you can watch the first three seasons of Golden Kamuy untranslated at Netflix Japan.
According to reports, Netflix typically likes to release whole seasons of a show, rather than simulcasting individual episodes. So, it’s possible that Netflix won’t release season 4 until it’s complete.
We couldn’t find Golden Kamuy on Netflix in Hong Kong, France, Singapore, Australia, Taiwan, Germany, Canada, South Korea, Spain, and the United Kingdom.
To watch Golden Kamuy on Netflix, you need to either be in Japan, or have a reliable VPN.
How to Watch Golden Kamuy on Netflix via VPN
This method works on both desktop PCs and mobile phones or tablets.
- Purchase (or start a free trial of) a VPN. I can confirm that NordVPN works for this purpose.
- In the settings, choose Japan as your location.
- Fire up the VPN and wait for it to do its magic
- Once you’re connected, navigate to Netflix (browser or app)
- Search “Golden Kamuy” in the Netflix search bar and you should see the anime pop up.
I’ve had no trouble using this method and I still use NordVPN to watch anime from various Netflix country libraries daily.

3. Amazon Prime Video
Amazon Prime Video offers several options for Golden Kamuy, listed on three separate webpages.
The Original Japanese Version comes with English subtitles. This option has three full seasons of Golden Kamuy, plus the first five episodes of season 4 (as of November 2022). Amazon seems to lag behind Crunchyroll by an episode or so.
The Simuldub of Golden Kamuy is dubbed in English. Again, there is a slight lag behind Crunchyroll.
Amazon also has an Uncut, English dubbed version of Golden Kamuy. The Uncut version covers the first three seasons. “Uncut” versions typically remove censorship from the TV broadcast. You may also see better translations.

4. Apple TV
Apple TV has the first three seasons of Golden Kamuy (36 episodes). The episodes are available in separate subtitled and English dubbed versions.
Apple TV and Google Play both use Funimation. If you use Apple iOS, you will probably prefer Apple TV. Android users will choose Google Play.
However, if you have a choice, and you don’t mind paying a dollar more for HD quality, Apple has the third season. At the time that this was written, Google hadn’t caught up yet.
