About Girls und Panzer
Like Cowboy Bebop, FLCL, Kill La Kill, or Gurren Lagann, the Girls und Panzer anime came out first without a manga, light novel, or even a game.
The Girls und Panzer anime series started in October 2012. Technically speaking, a manga came out a few months ahead of the anime, but that was an adaptation based upon the anime.
The series was followed by several OVAs, including a couple which got short theater releases in Japan.
Since then, the Girls und Panzer story has mainly been told in films — Girls und Panzer der Film in 2015, followed by Girls und Panzer das Finale. Das Finale is actually a six-part film series. As of 2023, only the first three parts have been released, with the fourth arriving in October.

Netflix Japan has Girls und Panzer (including the OVA This is the Real Anzio Battle), Girls und Panzer der Film, and the first two parts of Girls und Panzer das Finale in Japanese.
We tried Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Germany, Great Britain, France, Sweden, Australia, and Canada with no luck.
To watch Girls und Panzer on Netflix Japan, you will need to be in Japan or have a VPN.
How to Watch Girls und Panzer on Netflix via VPN
This method works on both desktop PCs and mobile phones or tablets.
- Purchase (or start a free trial) of a VPN. I can confirm that NordVPN works for this purpose.
- In the settings, choose Japan as your location.
- Fire up the VPN and wait for it to do its magic
- Once you’re connected, navigate to Netflix (browser or app)
- Search “Girls und Panzer” in the Netflix search bar and you should see the anime pop up.
Enjoy! Please note that if your Netflix library doesn’t update to reflect the country you selected in your VPN, you may have to clear the Netflix cache first and try again.

Sentai Filmworks’ HIDIVE has Girls und Panzer. It also has several OVAs, two parts of Das Finale, and a 2018 anime series compilation film, subtitled The 63rd National High School Sensha-Do Games. It doesn’t have the 2015 movie.
HIDIVE is available outside the United States in some areas. However, you can’t get HIDIVE in some nations (such as Japan). And other countries only have a limited amount of content. You may need a VPN in those areas.

Hulu Japan also offers Das Girls und Panzer Symphoniekonzert, Girls und Panzer der Film Cinematic Concert, and Girls und Panzer: Herbst Musikfest 2015. These are live orchestra performances. You can find these by doing a search for Girls und Panzer on the website.
Note that Hulu Japan is not related to Hulu in the United States. The website is designed for a Japanese audience, but PayPal appears to be a payment option.
