Digimon Adventure is the first series belonging to the Digimon franchise that started airing all the way back in 1999. This anime instantly gained worldwide popularity, and we’ve seen many sequels since then. There have been many alternate versions of the series as well, like Digimon Tamers, Digimon Frontier, etc., but Digimon Adventure has still remained the most popular Digimon series, and the latest sequel movie titled “Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna” got released very recently in 2020. Today, I’ll be telling you guys all about where you can watch the original Digimon Adventure series and all its sequels online. I’ll also be mentioning a few places that let you buy the Blu-Ray disk sets of the series, so be sure to read the entire post.

Digimon Adventure Plot:

Before I tell you guys more about all the platforms that let you watch Digimon Adventure, let’s take a closer look at the unique plot of the series.

We follow the story of a group of seven children that go to summer camp together. They are all very confused when they see snow falling from the sky in the month of July. The confusion doesn’t stop here, though; the children are given strange devices that take them into another world. In this weird world, the children encounter animal-like beings called the Digimon. The kids soon realize that they are in the Digital World, and they must use their Digivices to protect themselves in this world. As the kids try to find a way home, they find out more regarding the reason why they were sent to the Digital World in the first place.

5. NetflixDigimon Adventure Netflix

Netflix is a very famous video streaming platform that lets you watch many popular anime and live-action drama series. The platform is also a good place to watch Digimon Adventure as both the original series and its reboot are available on the platform. While the original series is available in English and Japanese, the remake is only available in Japanese. The availability of this show will depend upon your region, so you might need a VPN to change your location to the US or Japan in order to enjoy the show.

How to Watch Digimon Adventure on Netflix via VPN

This method works on both desktop PCs and mobile phones or tablets.

  1. Purchase (or start a free trial) of a VPN. I can confirm that NordVPN works for this purpose.
  2. In the settings, choose the USA or Japan as your location.
  3. Fire up the VPN and wait for it to do its magic
  4. Once you’re connected, navigate to Netflix (browser or app)
  5. Search “Digimon Adventure” in the Netflix search bar and you should see the series pop up.

Enjoy! Please note that if your Netflix library doesn’t update to reflect the country you selected in your VPN, you may have to clear the Netflix cache first and try again.

To to do this, go to settings -> apps -> Netflix -> clear cache. I’ve had no trouble using this method, and I still use NordVPN to watch anime from various Netflix country libraries daily.

  • The original series and the reboot are both available.
  • You can watch tons of other anime and drama series on the platform.

Cons:

  • You will probably need to subscribe to a VPN service to enjoy the show.
  • The movie sequels are not available.
  • The reboot is not available in English.

Netflix has three different plans. The basic one costs 8.99 USD per month, and the most expensive one costs 17.99 USD per month.

4. Amazon Prime

You can find both of the original seasons, the reboot of the series and the Tri movie sequels on this platform. However, you have to purchase each episode of the series individually.

  • The anime can be found in English and Japanese.
  • Almost the entire series is available.
  • You can keep every episode that you purchase forever.

Cons:

  • This platform can be very expensive.

Price:

The price of every individual episode is different, but most of them are available for 1.99 USD each.

3. Hulu

Hulu is a pretty famous streaming platform, and it lets you watch the first two seasons of the anime in English only, and you can also watch the reboot of the series in Japanese with English subtitles.

Pros:

  • The original two seasons are available in English.
  • The first month of streaming is free.

Cons:

  • The first two seasons are not available in Japanese, and the reboot is not available in English.
  • The Tri movies and some episodes of the reboot version of the series are not available.

Price:

The first package of Hulu starts at only 5.99 USD per month. However, this package still includes annoying ads. You can pay 11.99 USD per month to get rid of all ads and get the complete streaming experience.

2. Crunchyroll

The second-best place to watch Digimon Adventure online would be Crunchyroll, as this platform lets you watch all the seasons of the series, its reboot and the Tri movie sequels. Sadly, you can only watch the series in Japanese with English subtitles.

  • You can watch everything for free if you don’t mind the ads.
  • There are many other anime available on the platform as well.

Cons:

  • You can only watch anime on the platform.
  • Digimon Adventure is only available in Japanese.

Price:

You can get the Fan package of Crunchyroll for only 7.99 USD per month and watch all the anime and dramas available on the platform without ads. You can pay a bit more to enjoy extra perks as well. The most expensive package costs 14.99 USD per month.

Digimon Adventure AnimeLab

AnimeLab is the best place to watch Digimon Adventure online as every single season of the series and the Tri movie sequels are available on the platform. You can even watch the series for free at 480p if you don’t mind minimal ads. The entire series is available in English and Japanese. AnimeLab is currently only available in New Zealand and Australia, so you will probably need a good VPN service to watch the show.

  • You can watch everything for free.
  • Tons of other anime are available on the platform as well.

Cons:

  • You can only watch anime on the platform.

Where can I Watch Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna?

The latest movie that was released in 2020 seems to not be available on any of the popular streaming platforms. You can watch this movie sequel by individually purchasing it as a DVD on Amazon, or you can purchase it for online viewing through the Itunes or Microsoft store.
