Quick Answer
Kamisama Kiss follows Nanami Momozono, a high-school student who becomes the land god of a neglected shrine and is bound to the fox familiar Tomoe. Outside Japan, start with Crunchyroll only in supported Crunchyroll territories. In Japan, the direct routes confirmed here are U-NEXT and Hulu Japan. Crunchyroll is not Japan evidence: a Japan-region check redirected its series route to a currently-unavailable page.

The official Kamisama Hajimemashita anime site identifies the anime and is the provenance source for this guide’s featured artwork. It is an official reference, not a current streaming-availability claim.
What to Check Before Subscribing
Match your country to the correct table. A title page in one territory does not establish rights in another. On the linked service, check the exact series, episode count, audio/subtitle choices, and whether the current offer is subscription, rental, purchase, or a limited catch-up window.
FAQ
Is Kamisama Kiss available in Japan? This guide links to direct U-NEXT and Hulu Japan title pages; verify the live offers there. Is Crunchyroll the Japan option? No. The Crunchyroll route is scoped to supported territories outside Japan because the Japan-region check returned a currently-unavailable result.
Anime Synopsis
After her father disappears under a cloud of debt, Nanami Momozono loses her home and accepts a stranger’s offer of shelter. The address turns out to be a neglected shrine, and the stranger is its former land god. Nanami inherits the post, but its fox familiar Tomoe refuses to accept a human master. As she learns the shrine’s duties, Nanami is pulled into the world of spirits, old promises, and a romance that neither of them planned.
Watching While Traveling
Catalogs are licensed by territory. Use legitimate subscriptions, protect your account on public Wi-Fi, and follow each service’s terms and local rules; travel does not guarantee that a title appears in every catalog.
