A new Japanese VTuber project is leaning into a phrase that says a lot about the next phase of the scene: “会えるVTuber”, or a VTuber fans can meet.
PANDORA’s MARINA LYRICA project is beginning its full rollout after appearing at SusHi Tech Tokyo 2026. The June 3 announcement says three 3D characters will debut from June 5 onward, with mixed-reality meet-and-greet style experiences planned for the future.
Who Is Debuting?
The announced names are 初波ぷうる, 玉波うるま, and 涼波ヒトデ. The project presents them as 3D characters from the start, which fits the larger goal: not only livestreaming, but also physical-space fan contact through MR and event technology.
That framing is different from a normal VTuber debut. Many VTuber projects eventually branch into concerts, pop-up stores, and meetups. MARINA LYRICA is putting the “meetability” angle closer to the center of the brand from day one.
Why This Is Worth Watching
Japan’s VTuber market is crowded, so a new group needs more than character designs to stand out. The SusHi Tech Tokyo connection and MR concept give MARINA LYRICA a clearer business angle: use virtual talent as a bridge between online fandom and real-world events.
For overseas fans, this may not be immediately accessible unless streams and announcements are translated. But as a trend story, it is useful: Japanese VTuber projects are increasingly treating physical presence, ticketed events, and tech showcases as part of the core product.
What to Watch Next
The important test for MARINA LYRICA is whether the “meetable” promise becomes a real fan product. Debut streams will show the characters and tone, but the bigger story is the MR plan: dates, venues, ticketing, language support, and how much the experience differs from normal VTuber live events. Those details will decide whether this is a gimmick or a useful new format.
