If you’re a fan of My Hero Academia, a shirt may be just the way to show it.

This shonen superhero anime series has inspired some really clever and creative T-shirts. For one thing, the series features a large cast of fun and entertaining characters. And pretty much all of them wear colorful superhero costumes (which is great for T-shirt designers).

In addition, even after more than 130 episodes, these superhero adventures continue to delight fans, and keep them asking for more.

Even if you’re not a fan of the series, you may know somebody who would really appreciate a My Hero Academia gift for a birthday or other event. We can help you find some of the better shirts from this series.

About My Hero Academia

My Hero Academia at Crunchyroll. Kohei Horikoshi/ Shueisha, My Hero Academia Production Committee

My Hero Academia is a superhero anime series. However, it’s more than just a Japanese version of Superman, the X-Men, or Spider-Man. (Although certainly the series does borrow familiar motifs from American comics.)

The first few seasons saw the heroes-in-training at U.A. High School find out if they have what it takes to be superheroes. There have been tests, training, an internship program, some school slice-of-life stuff, and some truly deadly villains.

As Deku and his allies come closer to becoming full-fledged heroes, recent episodes have really ramped up the level of danger and suspense. Big villain plans have come to fruition. Season 6 in particular has been a roller coaster of action, ethical issues, and difficult paths for our heroes to take.

My Hero Academia started in 2014 with a manga series. The manga is still running in Weekly Shonen Jump. The manga spawned an anime adaptation, which began in 2016.

By the end of March 2023, there will be 138 episodes in six seasons. Most seasons, except for the short, 13-episode first season, have had 25 episodes.

The 10 Best My Hero Academia Shirts

1.  Izuku Midoriya Mosaic

Izuku "Deku" Midoriya mosaic "One For All" shirt at ZenPlus.

This shirt features a mosaic image of Deku, looking happy and wearing his most iconic superhero outfit.

The mosaic is made up of lots and lots of little pictures from the anime series.

Deku is the main character of the series, and he’s been through a lot lately, so he deserves a cool T-shirt.

Buy this Izuku Midoriya mosaic T-shirt at ZenPlus.

2. Hello Kitty & My Hero Academia

Hello Kitty & My Hero Academia collaboration T-shirt at Amazon.

In 2022, Sanrio had a cute and clever collaboration with My Hero Academia. This shirt was part of that unique peanut butter/ chocolate combination. It pairs up All Might with Hello Kitty, Deku with Pochacco, Bakugo with Badtz-Maru, Ochaco with My Melody, Todoroko with Tuxedo Sam, and Tsu-chan with Keroppi.

Keroppi/ Froppy is the most obvious team-up, but somehow all of the choices make sense.

If you like the concept, but this shirt isn’t quite what you had in mind, you can find similar ones at Amazon or elsewhere. (Sanrio itself seems to have moved on to other stuff, and the Sanrio website doesn’t have the collaboration items available anymore.)

3. Todoroki Snow Festival

Shoto Todoroki (My Hero Academia) shirt from the Sapporo Snow Festival at ZenPlus

In 2020, the characters from My Hero Academia took part in Hokkaido’s Sapporo Snow Festival, one of the bigger and more famous winter festivals in the world.

(In case you’re wondering how the 2020 festival managed to avoid COVID, the event took place in late January and early February, before the whole world shut down in March.)

Even if you weren’t able to attend in person, you can still get one of the commemorative T-shirts.

In this shirt, Todoroki is seen with a traditional Japanese-style snowman.

Check out the Todoroki snow festival T-shirt at ZenPlus.

4. Cosplay-style U.A. Training Suit

U.A. High School gym uniform/ training suit cosplay-style shirt for My Hero Academia at Amazon.

This shirt is based on the unisex “gym uniform” or training suit worn by U.A. High School students for athletic events. It’s similar to what Ochaco wore when she threw that ball to infinity, or what everyone wore during the Sports Festival.

It’s not quite the same as the one seen on the show — a more accurate version would have a collar, and a zipper down the front. But, you could probably get away with using it as part of a quick and easy “casual cosplay.”

It’s available as a T-shirt, or as a long-sleeve hoodie.

5. Tsuyu Asui Snow Festival

Tsuyu "Froppy" Asui (My Hero Academia) Sapporo Snow Festival shirt at ZenPlus

This shirt is from the same festival as the Todoroki shirt mentioned above. This one features Tsuyu (or “Tsu-chan”) Asui, i.e. Froppy.

It seems a bit cruel to make Tsu-chan, with her frog powers, attend a snow festival. Cold weather is one of her weaknesses, so it’s like Superman visiting a Kryptonite Festival. Still, she looks cute even when she’s freezing and miserable.

6.  Mina Ashido Design

Mina "Pinky" Ashido (My Hero Academia) shirt at Amazon

If you’re a fan of Mina “Pinky” Ashido, you’ll like this awesome T-shirt design. It features the alien-esque, acid-producing superhero girl against a background of scenes featuring her in action.

If this shirt isn’t quite what you want, brand Mr.W has lots of other anime shirts.

7. Ochaco Uraraka Mosaic

Ochaco Uravity mosaic design T-shirt, My Hero Academia anime series, at ZenPlus

This T-shirt is an Ochaco version of the Deku mosaic shirt mentioned above. Like with the Deku shirt, the design is made up of lots of images from the series. The mosaic creates an image of Ochaco looking happy and determined.

The shirt is from Amnibus, which makes a lot of anime merch.

8. Friends-Inspired Design

Friends-style My Hero Academia shirt from Amazon

This clever T-shirt takes the logo for the United States sitcom Friends and tweaks it for My Hero Academia

After all, one of the joys of watching MHA is seeing how the members of Class 1-A are more than just classmates. They are genuinely concerned about each other.

We’ll let you decide which one is Ross, Rachel, Joey, Monica, Phoebe, or Chandler.

9. Foil Print Todoroki

Todoroki from My Hero Academia (T-shirt) at ZenPlus

This shirt features a blue silhouette of Shoto Todoroki and the show’s initials. It also describes Todoroki’s “half cold/ half hot” quirk. The 15 on the shirt is Todoroki’s class number.

10. Angry Bakugo

Bakugo angry, T-shirt, My Hero Academia, at ZenPlus

You can almost hear Katsuki Bakugo yelling when you see this shirt. Is he mad at Deku? Did something go wrong during a fight? Maybe he’s just insisting upon his hilariously-long superhero name?

I don’t know, but this fun shirt is certainly expressive.

The above screenshot shows the shirt in black. But if you don’t like black, it’s also available in gray, navy blue, red, white, and yellow. Other versions of this shirt come in army green, blue, orange, pink, and sandy.

You can find this shirt at Amazon.

Conclusion

The 10 shirts shown here are just a sampling of what’s available at ZenPlus and at Amazon. There are a lot of good and clever anime T-shirt designs out there, and it was interesting to look through all of the possible shirts.

I hope this inspires you to think about a My Hero Academia shirt of your own.
