The world of anime is vast and diverse, but every once in a while, a series comes along that captures the hearts of fans worldwide. Behold, the Solo Leveling anime adaptation, a highly anticipated anime that has been on the wish list of many for quite some time.

Originating not from the traditional manga format but from a manhwa series, Solo Leveling stands out in its own right. For those unfamiliar, a manhwa is a South Korean version of a comic book or graphic novel. The question on everyone’s mind has been, “Why did it take so long for Solo Leveling to get an anime adaptation?” Well, the anime industry has only recently started to take an interest in the world of Korean comics starting off with shows like Tower of God and The God of High School. After those 2 shows were well-received the anime industry has started to put more confidence in manhwa adaptations.

The animation studio behind this masterpiece is none other than A-1 Pictures, known for their exceptional work on projects like “Fate/Apocrypha” and “Sword Art Online.”

In a world suddenly filled with dungeons and monstrous creatures, certain individuals, known as “hunters,” are granted magical abilities to combat these threats. Sung Jin-woo, initially dubbed the “weakest hunter,” finds himself trapped in a particularly dangerous dungeon. Barely surviving this ordeal, he discovers that he’s now a “player” and has access to a unique system that allows him to level up, much like in a video game. Starting from the bottom, Sung Jin-woo embarks on quests, battles monsters, and strengthens his abilities, aiming to become the world’s most powerful hunter. As he delves deeper into this new world of monsters and magic, he uncovers mysteries about the dungeons and their origins.

These magical portals, which serve as gateways to myriad worlds infested with creatures, aren’t just battlegrounds; they’re opportunities. Every portal presents both a risk of death and the promise of riches. And in this high-stakes world, some hunters experience a phenomenon known as the “second awakening,” a surge of power that can elevate them to legendary status.
